@Kohltonc
the wailers and bob marley were actually much more rocksteady influenced than ska in my opinion. as you can tell in much of marley’s solo music. in my mind, ska while jamacian really took off in cuba with singers such as prince buster and laurel aitken.
@ohxstarryxnight
you’re just ignorant. research anywhere for ska and you’ll learn of the three waves.this alone is so far un-punk. ska core is punk-ish. aka third wave… i hate ska-core it sounds like garbage.
@gochira23 Ska started in Jamaica around 1960’s and in fact the wailers were a ska band which i believe included Bob Marley and theres a ska version of One Love i think it is on youtube, but sometime later it started to slow down and thats where reggae came from and obviously Bob Marley went with reggae too and created his own slower version of one love. lol and ohxstarryxnights is wrong about ska being a branch of punk its the other way around ( I did a research project on ska for school lol )
@gochira23 ska, is an alternative type of music. also ska, is also branch of punk. So ska has more of an aggressiveness to it.
funny music, but not my thing
whats the difference between ska and reggae?
I just bought record off ebay few days ago, was stoked to find it.
I bought the album in Moncton ,Can. for .25c in 1985..say them play at the TSC in NFLD..fantastic
Wow – thanks for posting this. I saw the Villains many many times back in the early 80’s in London, ON when I went to school there. Even had the EP you speak of, but a roomate stole it!!!!! This brings back so many memories – they were a fantastic party band. Never walked out a gig without a smile on my face!
+ SKA
- SKY…. ULTRAS VELLETRI
@sharkredtooth then youve never heard the greatest ska band SUBLIME
Hmmm… I always thought that SKA was only in Spanish, Lol!!! xD

gute Laune
@hrdraper
I’m pretty sure it’s a guy named Dan Cowan. I’ve contacted him before about the tracks on iTunes not being complete.
@gris2195
yeah i have the same problem. i’ve been trying to track down a better quality version for so long
Beats me, perhaps if someone with the right connections could pull a few strings so i could enjoy a decent copy on my portable… after all i payed for it for no other reason than out of respect to the artists.
Who put them up there like that, and is making money from it?
Bought this EP off itunes store, a shame the four songs I recieved are quite poor quality with parts of intro missing… anyone had the same problem with the itunes release?
this 2nd generation ska,alrite

I have this album, fucking amazing
@elephungus73
actually it was, ska > rock steady > reggae
Rock steady > Ska > Reggae that was the progression
Yes, because ska is the predecessor of the rocksteady, reggae and ragga muffin
